Overview
About the Role
Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary Installation team to assess customer needs, generate concepts, design customer layouts, assess feasibility and spatial requirements.
Responsibilities
Works closely with Installation team and cross functional teams to create or assist with creating, system design/documentation packages from ideas, rough sketches, red line drawings and/or notes for Installation
Responsible for creating and/or modifying detailed designs using 2D and/or 3D modeling tools, SolidWorks and Auto CAD including the creation of models as well as detailed layout drawings.
Participate in product concept meetings, design reviews and product release/ design transfer process.
Assists Engineering with fabricating, assembling, and testing of large-scale electromechanical robotic systems.
Responsible for assisting with creating layout drawings for equipment installations at customer sites.
Estimates, manages, and reports time required for multiple or current tasks.
Executes quarterly goals.
Relevant experience working with Engineering and other cross functional teams to develop detailed drawings from ideas, rough sketches, red line drawings and notes for new product developments as well as improvements/revisions to current products.
3D modeling/designing experience with an emphasis on 2D AutoCAD, Solidworks, NX and CATIA
BOM management.
Must be able to work in a team environment and assist cross functional teams with the solving of complex issues.
Qualifications
Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T).
Ability to create, read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering specifications and assembly drawings.
Knowledge in finite element analysis.
Ability to create, perform and interpret test procedures as well as test reports.
Able to effectively solve problems, work independently on sub-assemblies and multi-task as required.
Good written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Self-starter, capable of working independently as well as building strong cross functional collaborative relationships.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office
Experience with reviewing designs that integrate multiple electro-mechanical components (Motors, Solenoids, Actuators, Bearings, Slides, Couplers, Sheet Metal, Machined Parts, Molded Parts..) and associated technologies.
Education and Experience
Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design preferred
Minimum 8 years Mechanical Drafting and Design related experience
Preferred experience with Fanuc, Kawasaki, Yaskawa, Nachi, KUKA, ABB, Comau Robot, AutoCAD, Inventor
