Job Summary The primary responsibility of the Technical Trainer is to train employees in all IES training, standards, certifications, and industry best practices.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and train required technical skills for IES employees within a specific program, branch or department
Conduct training needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, workflow, and reports, understanding job-specific functions and tasks
Evaluates training by assessing effectiveness of training to specific job applications
Maintains quality service by establishing and developing program specific standards
Implement training processes and best practices that add value and improve business performance
Ensure all personnel have required access and understand what their role requires within the systems that IES functions in
Provide instruction and eLearning guides for and new technologies and processes are developed
Development of comprehensive training materials for both classroom and eLearning experiences
As needed, provide one-on-one training sessions to employees with questions and/or issues
Provide and maintain professional training in a classroom and field environment as well as provide coaching to groups or individuals
Provide refresher training as necessary
Ensure precise processes are being communicated in a timely manner
Gather feedback from teams to improve training and processes
Other duties as assigned
Salary: USD $85,000.00/Yr. – USD $95,000.00/Yr.
Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements
Operate as a team member of management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Lead by positive example on policy, quality, safety, employee, ethical, and customer satisfaction attitude
Must be able to work a non-standard work schedule as required to provide job, team or individual specific training
For demonstration purposes, must be able to climb ladders, use hand and power tools, and lift 50 pounds
Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop, implement and review project process improvement(s)
Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners
Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s)
Must be able to travel within the United States as needed
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of training experience or related role
Must have demonstrated knowledge of job costing, job planning, quality management, safety training and contract administration
Must be proficient with IESOS, SharePoint, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project)
Must have working knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications
Must have working knowledge of industry standards, best practices, codes, and their application
Must be able to demonstrate installation techniques, best practices, and proper use of tools/equipment
Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements
Must have industry installation certification (BICSI Technician, CTS-I, etc.)
Prefer BICSI Trainer certification or AV/Security training capability
Working knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory practice preferred
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
Working knowledge of construction process (bid process, project management, delegation, finance, etc.)
Must meet Company minimum driving standards
