Overview

The Signia by Hilton Atlanta is looking for a dynamic Assistant Director of Catering Sales to join their team. The property offers 976 rooms and 100,000 square feet of meeting space, including 43 meeting rooms with the largest spanning 37,980 square feet. Our ideal candidate will have experience in the Atlanta catering sales market, having served as a Director or in a senior-level role. They should possess proven leadership skills to guide catering sales teams in developing and executing action plans that drive catering business to the hotel, and build and maintain strong market relationships to support team sales efforts. The candidate must be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

As Assistant Director of Catering Sales you will be responsible for developing market segments, soliciting new customer relationships, negotiating proposals and contracts to close business, and designing menus and events to maximize revenue and guest experience. You will assist the Director of Sales to achieve superior results in guest service, team member engagement, financial outcomes, strategic leadership, talent development, culture, innovation, and event operations, and will support and act on behalf of the Director of Sales. Key tasks include the following: STRATEGY: Drive innovation and creativity within event delivery; ensure high quality service standards through ongoing process reviews; actively support the sales process.

LEADERSHIP: Support leadership in all catering matters; be a visible, participatory leader who engages with the General Manager/Executive Committee, Sales, Catering and Events teams, guests, and suppliers; stay current on event trends and share best practices; participate in industry associations.

CULTURE: Inspire high-performing, multi-cultural teams; integrate Hilton values and programs; lead with Hilton culture and engage Team Members.

TALENT: Motivate and provide a productive work environment; maintain open-door policy; manage group and interpersonal conflicts effectively.

CATERING OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE: Ensure proper use of function space and event areas; manage supplier relationships; develop budgets and forecasting; ensure appropriate staffing; integrate current event trends; participate in customer site inspections and sales process.

What we are looking for

Minimum Years of Experience: three (3) years of hospitality-related experience at a manager level. Minimum of 1 year of project management or management experience. It would be advantageous to have knowledge of hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc), significant experience in revenue management or a similar analytical role, and a relevant degree in business development or related field (CMP, CPCE).
