Leads the accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis functions and other analyses for assigned LOB. Supports projects and other strategic initiatives across assigned LOB entities, both domestic and internationally, including acquisitions and joint ventures. Works closely with the executive team in Global Accounting, Financial Budget & Controlling, Risk and Compliance.Responsible for following applicable accounting and reporting guidance, and government and industry regulatory requirements that can withstand scrutiny and challenge. This includes ensuring policies and procedures are followed, specifically to the NAIC’s Model Audit Rule (MAR), including financial analysis, review of monthly, quarterly, and annual reportingDirects the preparation and review of financial statements for assigned LOBActs as the key point of contact for assigned LOB companies with all Finance teams and ensures timely, accurate reporting of accounting and analysis resultsDevelops innovative ideas and strategies to streamline reporting and disseminates information while considering both external factors (e.g., market, financial, industry) and internal factors (e.g., financial strategies and processes)Monitors both financial and control risks for assigned LOB companies as it relates to reporting, and communicates results with external parties, including but not limited to external auditors, internal auditors, and regulatorsWorks directly with internal and external auditors to review, evaluate, and implement controls in processes and systems specific to assigned LOBReviews entries to the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and proceduresMonitors and implements internal controls and new accounting guidance to ensure proper compliance and protection of the company’s interestsWorks cross-functionally to assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets for the development of strategic business plans for the companyRecommends and implements changes in financial policies and procedures that serve the company’s needs and provide continuous quality improvementsMonitors performance of direct reports; provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling; conducts performance reviews; approves performance appraisals initiated by direct reports; and recommends salary increasesAssures effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility; where appropriate, informs employees as to plans and progress; conducts employee discussion sessions at regular and frequent intervalsPrioritizes, assigns, and distributes work of the department personnel to ensure responsibility is at the appropriate level and team member skills are developed to support the department’s business needsMonitors unit turnover, productivity, and overall performance to ensure adequate staffing and performance that meets department standardsParticipates in the interviewing and hiring process for open positions within the department to ensure the most qualified candidates are selectedDevelops the unit budget, monitors expenses to ensure unit costs are within established levels**Job Specifications***Typically has the following skills or abilities:*Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience; Minimum of 2 additional years of experience related to functional areaMinimum of 6 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing the performance of direct reportsStrong interpersonal skills required in dealing effectively with business partners, staff, outside auditors, and vendorsDemonstrated experience in working with and influencing senior managementExcellent project management skills and experience managing multiple large projects requiredIn-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the NAIC’s Model Audit Rule (MAR)Superior analytical skillsProven track record of influencing constituents for optimal resultsExcellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multitaskAbility to elevate the perception of our corporate brand and our companyFlexible and able to quickly and effectively change priorities and directionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and planning skillsClean credit history as reported by credit reportThis position will support the Accounting & Financial Reporting for several business areas, including Optics, Plexus, Eyefinity, Eyeconic, and Onsite Clinics.#LI-VISIONCARECompensation range for the role is listed below.
