Overview

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is seeking a thoughtful, organized, and collaborative administrative professional to join our staff. Our Public Relations Events Coordinator will be responsible for supporting year-round logistical planning and execution of internal DAR events as well as execution of year-round hotel contract management and logistics for national leadership meetings and the annual convention. The Public Relations Department works closely with executive leadership and other departments to collaborate and oversee the organization's communications, special projects, websites, media relations, annual convention, and special events. This position will provide support in the planning and execution of several large-scale DAR events, including the DAR annual convention, and apply their experiences and administrative knowledge to ensure the smooth flow of communication and planning throughout the year. This position is ideal for someone with administrative or office management experience looking to focus their skill set in a non-profit, membership-oriented office. Essential Functions

Supports preparations for special events such as the DAR annual convention and DAR Holiday Open House by arranging key personnel and vendors, managing payments, and executing logistics throughout the event. Oversees hotel accommodation planning in relation to our annual convention and DAR leadership meetings throughout the year. This will involve coordination and communication with all levels of leadership and members and stepping in when necessary to resolve issues. Coordinates and communicates with executive leadership and department heads regarding the planning and implementation of internal events. Provides assistance regarding the solicitation of vendor proposals and ensures constant communication regarding event details. Facilitates timely reconciliation of department invoices and credit card payments. Collaborates with Public Relations staff and leadership on a wide range of communications, special projects, and events. Reports to:

This is a full-time position, with limited telework options available. Required Qualifications : Minimum of 2 years of office administration experience required. Minimum of 2 years of experience coordinating special events or project management focused experience required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant work experience required. Strong project management and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and communicate priorities. Quickly able to shift focus if needed. Displays a strong attention to detail in all levels of work. Effective written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal skills and the ability to convey information to a wide range of individuals. Excellent computer skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel, and database experience. Knowledge of SAP Concur and Passkey/events management software, Photoshop, Canva, SurveyMonkey, Eventbrite and Cvent experience a plus. Takes initiative in their tasks and projects and finds ways to be more efficient in processes. Regular movement, such as walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and stooping leading up to and during special DAR events and DAR annual convention (Continental Congress). Perks and Pay : Hiring annual salary range is between $50,000 to $56,000, with the final determination based upon the candidate's overall experience.
