
Senior Analyst Trade Compliance
Job Description Summary
International Business Bachelor or similar, with 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry. Experience in problem solving, customs and foreign trade specialist, and free trade agreements (USMCA, MERCOSUR, ALADI). Knowledge of foreign trade programs (IMMEX, PROSEC, VAT Certification, AEO) with their applicable systems (Annex 24 and 30). Experience with Mexican regulatory trade compliance (SAT, Customs and Ministry of Economy) and project management in customs and tax audits started by the authorities.
Job Description
- To manage the Free Trade Agreements with internal suppliers besides USMCA.
- Perform audits of internal supplier processes regarding USMCA creation.
- Coordinate the request of certificates of origin from raw material suppliers.
- Coordinate the preparation and verification of the correct filling of USMCA origin certificates for raw materials and the qualification of finished products.
- Audit certificates of origin for USMCA to ensure documentary support of rules of origin.
- Perform audits regarding HTS classification and USMCA creation.
- Align HTS information with the custom broker and create new part numbers in Annex 24.
- Manage the Sub‑maquila/Rule 8th process through the electronic annex 24. _delegate
- Set up new sub‑maquila suppliers and administer sub‑maquila compliance for Mexican customs.
- Register and cancel sub‑maquila companies in the IMMEX Program.
- Present sub‑maquila notices to the Customs authority by electronic means in accordance with the General Rules of Foreign Trade.
- Provide the "Report of tö exports of sub‑maquila operations" to sub‑maquila companies if required.
- Administer balances and renewals of Rule 8th.
- Comply with formalities required for IMMEX, PROSEC, AEO Certification, and VAT Certification programs:
- Certifications renewals.
- Submission of annual payments of certifications (AEO and VAT).
- Carriers’ registrations (AEO).
- Registration or cancellation of facility domiciles.
- Filing notices, modification of partners, shareholders, legal representatives, board members, national or foreign suppliers.
- The Annual Report on Foreign Trade Operations (RAOCE) (IMMEX and PROSEC).
- Audit electronic pedimento files.
- Apply for Sener permits.
- Conduct Data Stage audits.
- Maintain and update procedures and controls.
- Perform other activities inherent to the trade compliance department related to timely compliance with formalities required by governmental or private authorities.
- Participate in special projects aimed at ensuring proper compliance with laws applicable in Mexico.
- Provide training of functions if required.
- Solve problems and escalate them through appropriate channels.
Required Skills and Education
- International Business or Supply Chain Management bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of work experience.
- Knowledge of Mexican regulatory trade compliance (SAT, Customs, Ministry of Economy).
- Good problem‑solving and auditing skills.
- Leadership and facilitation skills.
- Availability to travel 15%–20%.
- Project management experience.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of foreign trade programs: IMMEX and VAT Certification systems (Annex 24 and 30).
- Analytical and results‑focused.
- Team communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge in certifications of origin of products by international agreements.
