
Overview
Our client, a food distribution company, is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join their food distribution team.
This role is responsible for handling inbound customer calls, resolving order and delivery issues, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting light sales efforts by reactivating inactive or low volume customers.
Responsibilities
Answer incoming phone calls and emails from customers in a professional and friendly manner
Assist customers with delivery schedules, order status, pricing questions, and product availability
Resolve customer concerns related to order accuracy, product quality, and delivery issues
Make updates to existing orders, including adding or adjusting products as requested
Communicate with sales, warehouse, and delivery teams to ensure timely issue resolution
Proactively reach out to inactive or low activity customers to reintroduce products and services
Identify opportunities to upsell or increase order sizes when appropriate
Accurately document customer interactions and updates in the system
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and account retention
Qualifications
Previous customer service experience, preferably in food distribution, logistics, or wholesale
Strong phone communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast paced environment
Problem solving mindset with attention to detail
Comfortable making outbound calls to existing customers
Basic computer skills, experience with order entry or CRM systems is a plus
Sales or account management experience is a plus
Familiarity with food service customers such as restaurants, caterers, or retailers is a plus
Ability to build rapport and long term customer relationships

Compensation $75,000 per year
