The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for achieving resort revenue and profit goals by executing sales strategies, managing multiple market segments, and handling key accounts. This role includes direct sales activities, developing group and catering sales systems, and establishing CRM standards, pipeline visibility, forecasting, and standardized sales procedures, contracts, and proposals. The role collaborates with Revenue Management and the Associate Director of Sales to maximize group demand and total resort revenue.
Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Manage group market segments for the property as designated by the Associate Director of Sales and Marketing.
Design, standardize, and implement sales operational processes to ensure efficiency and consistency.
Collaborate with application developers to build and launch sales/marketing tools (CRM, proposal system, contract workflow, Cvent, etc.).
Assist with rate development, group sales, and catering deployment strategies using competitive data, demand analysis, and mix management.
Collaborate with marketing, operations, and leadership to align goals and optimize guest experience.
Participate in scheduled Sales and Revenue Meetings and other required meetings.
Establish group and catering/banquet sales activities to maximize resort revenue.
Input information accurately using Delphi.fdc.
Represent Silver Dollar City Resort at community, client, and industry events (some travel required).
Develop a high-achieving sales plan aligned with company goals and values.
Lead solicitation efforts and oversee rate, date, and space commitments for group room sales.
Assist in training the sales and catering team and maintain open communication.
Review revenue goals vs. actuals with the Associate Director of Sales on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and execute 30/60/90 action plans.
Develop strategies to meet or exceed personal and team booking goals; adjust as necessary.
Lead by example, coach and mentor team members to achieve goals.
Ensure timely response to RFPs and other leads; prepare proposals/contracts and quote rates.
Maintain knowledge of competitors and related markets to position Silver Dollar City as a destination.
Develop relationships with key decision makers and planners to acquire new groups and meet needs promptly.
Deliver persuasive verbal and digital sales presentations; engage in site visits, off-site sales calls, trade shows, and phone solicitation.
Prospect to meet or exceed goals; manage a large sales funnel with multiple proposals and contracts.
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy of final bills and service delivery.
Prepare reports on department operation (forecasts, lead management, pace reports, STR reports, meeting minutes) and assist in budgeting and business planning.
Support group and catering revenue minimums and participate in market research to inform marketing strategies.
Comply with attendance rules; travel, overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of sales and marketing in hospitality.
Minimum of 5 years of resort sales experience.
Minimum of 5 years of resort catering sales experience (social and special events).
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
Proven track record of individual and team accomplishment in hospitality sales.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of PMS and POS systems (Opera PMS, Delphi, Sales Pro or similar).
Experience with Cvent, Cendyn Proposals, and MeetingBroker is a plus.
Experience with incentive travel and hotel site selection companies (e.g., HelmsBriscoe, Conference Direct).
Strong ability to deliver compelling in-person and virtual sales presentations.
Ability to manage a large sales funnel with proposals and contracts.
Understanding of event execution and impact on operations.
Ability to align sales commitments with service delivery and guest experience.
Strong prospecting, outreach, and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented with high accuracy.
Must pass background and drug tests; verbal fluency in English (reading/writing).
