
Description
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel, Litigation & Compliance, the Paralegal will support a broad range of legal matters across the business, including contracts and commercial support, litigation/claims and investigations support, compliance coordination, and legal operations (tools, processes, spend management and knowledge management). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and partners well with cross-functional teams.
This position is hybrid and is based in Broadview Heights, Ohio (3 days in office / 2 remote).
Responsibilities
Support commercial contracting function, including preparing draft agreements using company templates, coordinating execution via e-signature platforms (e.g., DocuSign), and supporting corporate counsel with negotiation and contract management
Assist in the rollout and updating of corporate policies and track completion of legal/ethics compliance training and reporting requirements
Assist with litigation and pre‑litigation support: maintain matter files, track deadlines, coordinate document collection, and support responses to subpoenas and information requests
Help administer legal hold and discovery workflows (custodian tracking, document coordination, basic quality checks) in partnership with internal stakeholders and e‑discovery resources
Support internal and external investigations by organizing documents, coordinating interviews/meetings, and maintaining chronologies and key records
Coordinate third‑party due diligence and compliance screenings (e.g., anti‑bribery/export screening) using company tools and documented processes
Provide support for basic corporate record‑keeping tasks, such as maintaining corporate calendar (e.g., board meetings and deadlines) entity records, annual filings, and routine minutes/consents for subsidiaries as needed
Assist with preparation of board/committee materials and post‑meeting record organization when requested
Help run day‑to‑day legal department operations: matter intake tracking, shared inbox/process coordination, and maintaining organized digital matter files and knowledge resources
Support outside counsel/vendor administration and legal spend processes, including invoice review, e‑billing support, matter coding, and coordination with Finance/AP for accruals and reporting
Contribute to continuous improvement projects (templates, playbooks, checklists, dashboards) to improve turnaround times and visibility across legal work
Professionally handle legal and other matters involving confidential, proprietary and legally privileged documents and information and maintain appropriate discretion and judgment
Support Legal Department and various business functions with various complex and sensitive matters and special projects as needed
Qualifications Skills & Qualifications
Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, paralegal certification approved by the American Bar Association, or comparable experience
3-7+ years of relevant paralegal experience in a law firm and/or in‑house legal department
Strong organization and project‑tracking skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Comfortable with learning and working in legal tools/technology (e.g., e‑signature, matter management, e‑billing, e‑discovery)
Exposure to entity management/governance filings is a plus
