Overview
This role is in office. The Commercial Lending Assistant is responsible for working closely and proactively with credit analysts, business relationship officers, title companies, and clients to coordinate the loan closing process, renewal, and reviews of the Bank’s Conventional and SBA 504 loans in a smooth and efficient manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Upholds, at all times, the Bank’s Core Values of: Integrity, Respect, Positive Attitude, Empowerment, Accountability and Excellence. Delivers on the Bank’s tagline of “Your Best Banking Experience – Ever!” by reinforcing the application of superior customer service through own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees. Compiles pre-documentation package prior to submission to the loan servicing department for documentation. Verify all authorized signers for Borrowers and Guarantors, active status on Secretary of State, obtain insurance, preliminary title report, and entity documents. Performs pre-documentation due diligence to include running OFAC, preparing BSA, CIP and Financial Document Certification forms, UCC pre-search, and Standard Flood Hazard Determination. Confirms the accuracy of all codes (Product, Purpose, NAICS, HMDA, CRA, and Collateral codes) on the Credit Approval Memorandum. Works closely with credit analysts, title companies, 3rd parties (e.g., HOA, DMV), and clients to coordinate the loan closing process. Coordinates with title companies and prepares title instructions for all real estate secured loans. Responsible for maintaining all loan tickler reports for financial, tax returns, and deposit loan covenants. Assists with preparing tickler statements (letters, emails, and phone calls). Assists with email and phone communications regarding the tracking and collection of tickler items. Provides clients with copies of loan documents. Uploads client and guarantor financials to the bank’s imaging system. Generate financial Tickler Letters. Assists credit analysts in resolving client post-closing inquiries or issues. Answers telephones, answers questions and directs callers to proper Bank personnel. Assumes responsibility for special projects, gathers data and prepares reports for Management, audits, and other personnel. Operates computer terminal or personal computer to process account activity, determine balances and resolve problems within given authority. Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility

Minimum Requirements
Two years of related experience and/or training; Associate degree preferred but not required; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in Bank administration and compliance skills. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school, or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry. Intermediate knowledge of Bank administration, lending and operations products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures. Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in all operational and lending activities and terminology. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Advanced skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position. Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees. Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, operate a computer, and telephone. This position requires writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 50 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
