The Associate Marketing Manager contributes to Areya Media's mission by developing creative and impactful marketing proposals that meet client objectives and drive multimedia revenue for the Areya brand.
The Associate Marketing Manager has the following responsibilities and duties:
Develop and execute robust marketing strategies to grow viewership and monetize new podcasts under the Okayplayer and OkayAfrica banners.
Build and manage paid audio advertising campaigns, including Spotify Ads and Acast placements, to drive high-quality listenership growth.
Use Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) to funnel targeted traffic to podcast platforms, boosting downloads, subscriber numbers, and engagement.
Craft podcast‑specific social media campaigns that integrate audio content with short‑form video, static, and carousel creative for maximum reach.
Collaborate with the Audience Development team and podcast producers to ensure each new podcast has a compelling positioning, launch plan, and marketing messaging that resonates with target audiences.
Write engaging ad scripts and promotional content that align with the unique voice and culture of Okayplayer and OkayAfrica.
Plan, test, and optimize cross‑channel promotion strategies, including:
Cross‑promotion across other Areya Media shows
Influencer partnerships and guest collaborations
Paid placements and programmatic buys on podcast platforms
Newsletter and website integrations for organic traffic
Audio Marketing Strategist (Podcasts) should have the following skills, education and experience.
2+ years of proven experience in podcast marketing, with a track record of driving listener growth and increasing revenue for new shows.
Deep understanding of paid podcast advertising strategies, including running campaigns on Spotify Ads and Acast to boost visibility and engagement.
Expertise in leveraging Meta Ads to create effective campaigns that convert social traffic to loyal podcast listeners.
Strong knowledge of podcast distribution, promotion, and monetization strategies (cross‑promotion, sponsorships, affiliate deals, programmatic buys).
Ability to use analytics and performance metrics (Spotify for Podcasters, Apple Podcasts Connect, Acast, Podtrac, and social insights) to guide decisions and optimize campaigns.
Proficient in writing compelling copy for ad scripts, podcast descriptions, social media, and newsletters that attract and retain audiences.
Creative thinker with an eye for identifying growth opportunities and emerging trends in podcasting.
Highly organized self‑starter, able to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines with a focus on measurable results.
A passion for music, culture, and storytelling that aligns with the Okayplayer and OkayAfrica brands.
