Wachter is accepting applications for a Physical Security Estimator in Mount Laurel, NJ.

Responsibilities

Assist the Systems Engineering and Sales Departments in developing technical solutions that meet customer requirements.

Provide pre-sales support, system design, draft a bill of materials, request distributor quotes, organize pricing of equipment, and apply standard labor components to bids.

Discipline coverage includes Physical Security (IP Video Surveillance, Access Control) and Network Engineering a plus (switch/route wireless).

Assist with pre-sales opportunities by working with sales engineers to draft proposals and act as a technical resource for discovery and information gathering on client calls.

Work with MS Word and Excel; determine if additional information is needed to develop a solution that meets customer requirements.

Understand voltage limitations and lock types; have a good understanding of video surveillance (pixels per foot) and how to calculate retention time.

Comply with: Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Systems Engineering and Sales Departments in developing technical solutions that meet customer requirements.

Maintain current knowledge of the equipment and technologies supported by attending manufacturer training.

Read and understand RFPs, technical drawings, and technical requirements for IT-focused projects.

Adopt a methodical approach to tasks and be interested in learning new technologies.

Continue to learn new physical security solutions (video surveillance and access control) and, as a plus, an understanding of electrical limitations with respect to physical security.

Self-motivated, able to meet deadlines and maintain quality of work under pressure.

Qualifications and Experience

Education & Experience

High School diploma is required.

2- or 4-year college degree in Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, or MIS is a plus.

Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience required.

Language Skills

Proficient written and verbal English communication skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals

Ability to effectively present technical information to prospects, customers, peers, and managers

Experience in technical and proposal writing is a plus with an understanding of professional client-facing documents

Computer Skills

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and high proficiency with Word and Excel

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A few vendor-specific certifications from manufacturers such as Milestone Systems, S2, Axis Cameras, and/or Lenel are required (e.g., MCIT, Axis Certified; CCNA and CCNP a plus).

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Office work, may involve lifting a computer; ability to maintain a clean and conducive working environment.

$70,000 - $90,000 a year

Based on experience and qualifications.
