Overview
The Admissions Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of admissions, including inquiry management, referral coordination, hospital and physician relationships, census growth, and compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between the facility, referral sources, residents, and families.
Responsibilities
Manage the full admissions process from inquiry to admission
Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, case managers, physicians, and community partners
Coordinate bed management and census optimization
Verify insurance coverage, payer sources, and authorization requirements
Collaborate with clinical, business office, and leadership teams to ensure appropriate admissions
Conduct tours and communicate effectively with residents and families
Track admissions data and provide regular census and referral reporting
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations
Qualifications
Previous experience in admissions, marketing, or business development within Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care or healthcare setting preferred
Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care processes
Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Experience working with hospital discharge planners and referral networks strongly preferred
