Job Summary Special Programs Security has an opening for a Physical Security Director. The selected individual will be leading a team of security professionals and addressing compliance for Special Program areas.

As the Physical Security Director, you will primarily interface with Aerospace Program Management and government agencies/customers representing the organization in strategic discussions and negotiations regarding program security matters and requirements. You will be responsible for providing security support ensuring classified information is properly safeguarded and will provide on-site support for all security actions in accordance with corporate and governmental policies and directives.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at our facility in Chantilly, VA.

What You Will Be Doing

You will serve as the Physical Security Department Director overseeing operational functions and leads high-level planning and policy development to align security initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals

Assists in designing new Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and submittal of all preconstruction SCIF documentation necessary for SCIF accreditation

Responsible for providing guidance and oversight in the installation, operation, and maintenance of all security systems including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Access Control Systems (ACS), and CCTV Systems

Plans for major modifications of facilities and security systems; collaborates with other Aerospace project stakeholders from Facilities and Enterprise Information System (EIS), vendors, technicians, architects and general contractors to accomplish goals including follow up to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily during design and construction

Establish / Update security policy as it relates to physical security functions.

Formulates and implements policies and procedures to uphold and enhance physical security standards across all Special Program areas.

Collaborate across all company locations to implement consistent physical security processes/procedures

Manage service agreements with security vendors / providers (guard services and security system integrators)

Initiates work orders for repairs; obtains necessary funding and works with Facilities and Supply Chain to ensure the successful completion of projects.

When necessary, provides physical security requirements for all construction projects and modifications

Reviews, forecasts, and monitors department budgets as it pertains to physical security requirements. Develops and directs the strategic allocation of resources to ensure the optimal performance of all physical security operations.

Maintains and updates Fixed Facility Checklists (FFC) and other SCIF facility documentation as required

Ensures compliance with UL requirements for onsite National Industrial Monitoring Station that provides IDS monitoring for the Chantilly site and other Aerospace sites

Responsible for self-inspections oversight and compliance.

Advises and consults with upper management on Special Programs Security issues, decisions, and future planning for areas of responsibility.

Provides technical oversight for intrusion detection system alarms and security systems

Compiles system security plans in accordance with government regulations.

Conducts physical security surveys, and facility threat assessments to determine if facilities meet agency requirements and prepares written reports identifying recommendations for correction

Uses an electronic access control system (C-CURE 9000) to create corporate identity/access badges

Participates in physical security portion of DoD/SCI/ SAP annual inspections with government customers

What You Need to be Successful MinimumRequirements for the Physical Security Director include:

A minimum of (8) or more years of increasingly responsible and relevant professional experience with a High School diploma or (5) or more years of relevant professional experience with Bachelor’s degree is required

Previous management experience is required

Candidate must have a strong background in principles, concepts, practices, and standards related to SCI and Special Program Security, knowledge and practical application of ICD/ICS 705 series, and other applicable security directives and Executive Orders

Knowledge of physical security concepts and practices to include intrusion prevention and detection, closed-circuit television, and access control

Demonstrated leadership experience in developing strategic plans or managing large-scale security operations

Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time

Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customers and corporate staff and must work well in a team environment

Demonstrated flexibility and ability to lead change within the organization

Leads initiatives to continuously improve physical security protocols in response to emerging threats and technological advancements

Ability to maintain security as well as confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information

Demonstrated ability to manage security vendor service agreements

Must be willing and able to provide an after-hours response to alarm situations or emergencies, as necessary

Ability to represent the corporation with the U.S. government, DoD, and other governmental agencies

Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

A current and active TS/SSBI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government, is required. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is strongly preferred

Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) / Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred

Experience with Everbridge is desired

Ability to understand and interpret building design/floor plans to determine the consistency of contractual security requirements

A current and active TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government, is strongly preferred. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Compensation: $144,800.00 - $217,200.00 (Pay Basis: Annual)
