Director of Sports Nutrition
Overview Fresno State Athletic Corporation is seeking a Director of Sports Nutrition. The role supports Fresno State's NCAA Division I Football program and oversees nutrition programs for all 22 varsity sports teams. The position reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and collaborates with the Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning staff to advance athletic performance through nutrition.
Key Qualifications
Knowledge of: principles and practices of effective management and supervision, motivation, performance evaluation; sports nutrition and dietary supplements; current trends related to student-athlete health, nutrition, and well-being.
Skill/Ability to: exercise independent judgment; work effectively with diverse populations; support diversity and equity commitments; counsel athletes on safe practices to minimize injuries and illnesses; assess and analyze dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance; advise on nutrition for exercise, training, competition, recovery, hydration, and supplementation; continuously evaluate and develop processes to foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in Nutrition or related field. Minimum of two years professional experience working with college-age populations, collegiate student-athletes, or high-performance athletes (Professional and/or Olympic). Registered Dietitian (Commission on Dietetic Registration).
Job Responsibilities (Summary) Lead, develop, and implement comprehensive performance nutrition programs supporting Fresno State’s athletics, with oversight of all 22 varsity teams. Work with Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning staffs to meet athletic performance goals.
