About the Role
The Managing Director, Partnerships will be responsible for leading a global resource mobilization strategy to strengthen long-term sustainability and expand organizational impact. This role owns high-value fundraising performance by managing a portfolio of complex relationships with philanthropic foundations, bilateral institutions, and individual donors, while driving new revenue opportunities and deepening existing partnerships. The Managing Director will also lead and develop a high-performing partnerships/fundraising team, partner closely with executive leadership and program teams to align funding priorities with strategic goals, and oversee forecasting, target setting, and fundraising planning to support an annual budget of $15M+ in a rapidly changing funding environment.
The ideal candidate will bring senior-level leadership experience in partnerships, development, or resource mobilization, with a strong track record securing multi-year philanthropic or institutional funding and managing high-stakes external relationships. They should demonstrate strategic thinking and strong execution discipline, including experience using data and market insights to refine fundraising strategy and improve performance. Success in this role requires excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively across executive leadership, finance, and program teams to advance ambitious funding goals and protect long-term organizational resilience.
