The role of Social Media Manager (internally classified as Digital Communications Manager) is accountable for executing Movember's global communications strategy across social media channels.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning
- Plan and deliver a globally aligned channel strategy across Movember’s North American social media accounts (IG, Facebook, X, global LinkedIn) and support other global channels (YouTube, TikTok, etc.).
- Roll out and maintain the Social Operations Plan and execute all organic content within social channels globally.
- Strategically plan digital communications and propose new ways of capturing audience reach, acquisition, and retention.
- Aim to maximize audience engagement, build online communities, and acquire/retain audiences.
- Collaborate with Campaigns teams to build and manage global/local digital content calendars (quarterly and annually).
- Align paid and organic social media efforts with local income teams for integrated planning and strategies to boost organic content.
- Work with the Performance Marketing Manager on paid activity to maximize reach and engagement.
- Research benchmark trends and audience preferences to improve the Digital Communications Strategy.
- Measure the success of communications and share learnings with key stakeholders, focusing on KPI attainment (posts, impressions, engagement, growth).
- Meet KPIs relating to post frequency, visibility, resonance, consistency, and audience growth.
- Content (Story planning / knowledge translation / messaging and execution)
- Develop creative and engaging social media plans and content for campaigns, including influencer outreach and management.
- Manage the delivery of communications including creating, scheduling and publishing content on social media.
- Write social copy with consideration for audience, keywords, regional language differences, hashtags, and tagging.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to guide content creation and delivery.
- Identify content opportunities based on community activity and advocacy/impact stories from Movember.
- Community Engagement and Management
- Develop comprehensive distribution plans for Movember-owned content in partnership with relevant teams.
- Oversee community management frameworks and plans to build better relationships with audiences.
- Monitor pages for opportunities to interact, respond, and promote engagement.
- Meet KPI’s such as response time and maintaining brand tone of voice.
- Crisis & Reputational Risk Management
- Flag the need to deploy Movember’s crisis response plans across digital channels.
- Identify potential risks via digital channels and implement response plans.
- Analyze current Crisis Response plan and develop Local Market specific plans.
Not Mission Critical
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in large reach Social Media channel management with a proven track record of delivering against KPIs.
Digital communications experience across all organic social media channels.
Ability to create effective digital content, including social media tiles and copy.
Deep understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and trends.
Experience using Google Analytics, Sprout Social or equivalent tools.
Experience in writing briefs for social creative output.
Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana).
Experience and time working in the Social Impact space.
Experience delivering digital marketing for one or more localised global audiences.
Ability to work irregular hours, including occasional on-call status for social monitoring.
Bonus
Strong experience in digital marketing for the Canadian market, with understanding of Québec adaptations.
