Overview
The Director of Telematics Product Management is responsible for driving value realization through collaboration with department stakeholders, ensuring external communication with relevant railroad parties, and serving as the primary interface with partners to propagate the adoption of mesh hardware. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on product management expertise to deliver innovative telematics solutions that align with organizational goals and industry standards. RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and execute product management strategies that support telematics innovation and business growth. Serve as the primary liaison with industry partners to propagate the adoption of mesh hardware. Lead value realization initiatives by collaborating with department stakeholders to maximize ROI. Develop and maintain strong external communication channels with railroad partners to ensure alignment and transparency. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product roadmap decisions. Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture strategies, standards, and IT policies. Champion digital security and enforce best practices across telematics systems. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Professional: Demonstrates strong leadership and decision-making skills. Ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within budget. Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Personal: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships. Adaptable to changing priorities and business needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge with peers. QUALIFICATIONS
Required Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in product management and value creation. Proficiency in business intelligence tools and data-driven decision-making. Strong ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to travel up to 10% (Charlotte-based Preferred). MBA or equivalent advanced degree. Experience in telematics or transportation industry. Knowledge of mesh networking technologies and commercial hardware sales. Preferred MBA or equivalent advanced degree. Experience in telematics or transportation industry.
