JR110440**Compensation:**$57,591**Compensation Type:**Salary**Employment Type:****Grade:**E03**Department:**Contract / Grant Administration**Position Summary**Under general direction of the Dean of Student Services, the Project Director administers the Upward Bound grant by coordinating human, material, and financial resources to implement and maintain program requirements. The Project Director cultivates a student-centered approach to learning while meeting educational and program objectives.**Duties & Responsibilities****ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*** Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Upward Bound staff.* Direct the recruitment and selection of Upward Bound participants.* Assess participant academic and related skills and determine service needs.* Coordinate development of services including advisement, academic skill-building, cultural enrichment, service learning, career guidance, and activities associated with academic year and summer programs.* Provide opportunities for parent/family involvement in academic and financial planning.* Monitor participant progress and maintain data required for administration, accountability, and stipend justification.* Manage the project budget in accordance with regulations.* Establish and maintain positive relationships with target school personnel and community partners.* Ensure program evaluation is completed and used for continuous improvement.* Maintain compliance with Department of Education program regulations, including timely submission of continuation budgets and proposed program modifications.* Coordinate with Clovis Municipal Schools and Clovis Community College service providers to identify and access support services not funded by the project.* Attend Upward Bound professional development conferences and workshops; share relevant information with staff.**ESSENTIAL SKILLS:*** Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs.**SCHEDULE DETAILS:**Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
