Qualcomm is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Sr. Director of Product Management, IoT Camera, to help define and promote Qualcomm chipsets for various emerging camera and vision-based use cases.

Successful candidate will define the technology roadmap and software product requirements, analyze business opportunities, drive execution, and help with go-to-market plans and global customer engagements.

The position requires deep expertise in Camera, Multimedia, and Linux with extremely strong focus on camera sub-system, 2D/3D image capture, image/video post-processing, and machine vision.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate and influence multiple stakeholders in Product Management, Business Development, HW and SW Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Sales teams are essential requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Directs and oversees the development of highly complex camera products and sub-verticals and new camera products areas and services, independently; maintains communication with individuals across functional teams.

Define use cases, help with architecture, write requirements for SDKs, software stack and the total solution value proposition.

Manages all camera sub verticals and the product management team.

Serves as the authority in the creation of a differentiated roadmap for a product portfolio, facilitates decision making between cross-functional leaders, and achieves buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.

Establishes long-term portfolio innovation strategy, product roadmaps, and IP strategies while identifying gaps and maintaining the best interest of customers and alignment to the product roadmap.

Work with global customers and internal engineering teams on RFIs, RFQs, and system-level use case modelling & analysis. Drives communication plan and communicates appropriately with internal customers, third-party vendors, and senior management to build relationships, ensure alignment and buy-in, and achieve product goals as well as manage any planned changes.

Drives effective cross-functional collaboration by ensuring that Engineering and other internal partners (i.e., program management) meet customer expectations, promised deadlines, and align with overall roadmap for product portfolio(s).

Translates customer requirements, feedback, and market dynamics into potential feature requests to ensure a differentiated product roadmap.

Develops product goals (e.g., features, performance, cost, timeline, schedules), performs product feasibility, and facilitates cross-functional decision making for products they own.

Having a significant amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).

Exercising exceptional creativity to innovate new ideas and develop innovative products/processes without established objectives or known parameters.

Working independently with little to no supervision.

This is an office based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.

10+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in engineering or computer science and/or an MBA

15+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

4+ years of working in a large matrixed organization.

2+ years of working with operating budgets and/or project financials.

2+ years of negotiating 3rd party business agreements.

In depth knowledge of camera and vision technologies (algorithms, encoders, sensors, camera and video pipelines, AI, imaging, Image Signal Processor (ISP), 3A, Image Quality, and tuning)

Deep knowledge of camera sub-system; advanced knowledge of industry trends, and/or competitors’ products

Solid understanding of internals of various operating systems like Embedded Linux and Android, and Linux distros like Yocto, Ubuntu

Experience with various sensors, bus interfaces, ISP pipelines, camera architectures

In depth understanding of opensource frameworks like libcamera, V4L2, Camera HAL, GStreamer, and associated tools and technologies

Experience with OpenCL or CUDA is a plus.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment, including experience in discussing complex ideas with partners, customers, and executives

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits $227,700.00 - $341,500.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location. Salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
