Job Description The Corporate Development team at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for strategic partnerships at Chase across Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Wealth Management, Home Lending, and Auto. The team drives a variety of partnerships, including digital banking and payments partnerships with tech companies and payment networks, embedded benefits for our cards, co-brand partnerships, merchant funded offers, to name a few. Corporate Development is at the heart of many of the most important strategic and business decisions at Chase and these partnerships are critical to the firm’s ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem.
As a Vice President on the Corporate Development Card Partnerships team, you will drive deeply integrated partnerships to deliver embedded benefits to Chase credit cardholders, owning the discovery, negotiation, and contract execution of partnership deals. The scope of partnerships includes a variety of merchant categories from mass to premium and covers all Chase credit card products. As a Vice President on this team, you will source, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships with Chase Card Services. This is a highly-visible position that will encompass strategic analysis, deal negotiation, as well as leading through influence across a large, multifaceted organization. You will work with senior stakeholders externally and internally, including JP Morgan Chase’s most senior executive leaders. You will build a hybrid of different skills including strategy, project management, stakeholder management, negotiation, etc.
Job responsibilities:
Lead the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic card partnerships
Collaborate with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop business cases and deal constructs and ensure compliance of deal control process
Provide updates to senior executives on deal work
Maintain strong connectivity with other partnership teams
Monitor external environment for competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and share perspectives with key line of business partners
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Proven ability to negotiate commercial deals
Ability to influence across levels and drive progress in a matrix organization
Comfortable operating a dynamic fast pace and sometimes unstructured environment
Prior business development and partnership experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Prior credit card industry experience
Knowledge of small businesses
