Overview

Description of Work:
The IT Director for the University Police Department is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all information technology operations that support public safety functions. This includes direct supervision of a multidisciplinary IT team that manages police technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), surveillance systems (CCTV), electronic access control, and departmental infrastructure. The IT Director plays a critical role in planning, implementing, and evaluating technology strategies that align with the operational and security needs of the department while also supporting the university\'s broader IT standards and objectives.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s or equivalent education/experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or another relevant field required or related field.
  • Prior responsibility for numerous successful projects (delivered on time, meeting client requirements, with high team satisfaction), including some complex projects, and projects involving a number of project staff and clients.
  • Experience managing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise Windows based systems and information systems auditing experience required.
  • Prior experience performing IT general controls and application control reviews required.
  • Must possess a knowledge of current Microsoft Windows products, Microsoft Active Directory and management thereof, hardware/software troubleshooting, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Must demonstrate or develop a knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. Experience in configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of physical security systems (i.e. surveillance cameras, access control, alarms, etc.) or public safety systems, application development and management, and GIS applications.
  • Minimum 4 years of increasingly responsible experience, including experience successfully managing various projects.
  • Thorough grasp of information technology concepts and processes.
  • Must possess a knowledge of current Microsoft Windows products, Microsoft Active Directory and management thereof, hardware/software troubleshooting, and TCP/IP networking. 7+ years of leading and/or directing an IT team, to include inclusive leadership supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master\'s degree Computer Science, Information Systems or other relevant field required or related field.
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), A+ and Server+ certifications preferred.

Posted Salary: $110,000/yr. minimum
