
Job Title: Technical Designer – Women’s RTW & Gowns
Position Summary
The Technical Designer at this RTW brand plays a critical role in ensuring the fit, quality, and construction of women’s gowns and dresses align with the brand’s luxury standards. This position partners closely with Design and Product Development to translate creative vision into impeccably executed garments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all fit, fabric, and construction aspects of women’s gowns and dresses from development through production
Lead and conduct fit sessions; communicate clear, precise fit corrections to internal teams and overseas vendors
Evaluate fabrics, trims, and garment construction to ensure quality, consistency, and feasibility
Create, review, and maintain technical packages, including measurements, grading, construction details, and sewing instructions
Collaborate closely with Design and Product Development to balance aesthetic intent with technical execution
Monitor fittings through all development stages, ensuring deadlines are met
Identify and resolve potential fit or production issues proactively
Stay informed on trends, materials, and construction techniques relevant to luxury women’s wear
Supervise and mentor 1 Assistant Technical Designer, providing guidance and workload oversight
Qualifications
Extensive experience in women’s gowns and dresses, preferably in a luxury or contemporary market
Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and fit for woven eveningwear
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Design and Product Development teams
Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Salary $85,000
