Develop and/or implement controls (policies/procedures/standards and/or rules/regulations) to safeguard and properly account for department funds/property. Monitor controls to ensure compliance with policies/procedures/standards and/or rules/regulations. Oversee and prepare division budgets. Review fiscal operations to ensure integrity, accuracy and control of data. Perform statistical and/or actuarial analysis by applying appropriate protocols in analyzing data and reaching accurate conclusions. Develop or modify rules, policies, or standards, etc. Perform regular reviews of processed unclaimed property claims and communicate results to division and department management. Make correcting entries in Vantage to move expenses to/from UP trust to/from budget. Help oversee physical inventory of equipment and pilferable items. Consolidate daily holder receipt data from Check deposits, Cybersource, ACH, and wires. Create a summary for Vantage, and upload the full details to KAPS as a batch to generate holder receipts in KAPS. Create and distribute the Outstanding Items report each month. Calculate the yearly transfer from the Unclaimed Property trust fund to the Uniform School Fund. Perform periodic reviews of safekeeping and holder receipts/reports. Perform reconciliations between the unclaimed property subsystem and Vantage Finance, between Vantage Finance and the unclaimed property bank account, and between the security custodian's record and the unclaimed property subsystem. Communicate results to division and department management. Run various aging reports to ensure timely completion of processes and communicate progress to division and department management. Oversee user rights in the unclaimed property subsystem to ensure proper separation of duties and appropriate user access based on job responsibilities. Prepare department ACH/wires and inter-agency transfers. Assist with creation and/or renewal of division purchasing contracts. Oversee and direct the holder receipt process. Manage special fiscal projects or activities of a highly specialized nature. Manage accounting or budget activities and provide fiscal information. Qualifications
Evaluating and implementing internal controls. Using accounting and financial computer systems, including Vantage Finance. Using MS Office products Excel, Word, Access. Preparing and approving accounting journal entries. Performing reconciliations. Communicating ideas, recommendations and findings. CPA Licensure preferred or equivalent work experience.
