Success Profile:
The Technical Designer is responsible for ensuring that design vision is translated into a well-constructed and manufacturable garment that reflects brand’s esthetics and design integrity. As a member of the Technical Design team, you will conduct fit sessions, communicate fit session to vendors, G-III global offices and work cross-functionally to ensure accuracy of garment measurements, fit, construction details and flow of information while addressing any technical challenges during the development and production process.
Reporting: VP of Production
Brand/Product Focus: Levi’s Men\'s & Women’s Outerwear
Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District
Responsibilities
Measure garments and organize for fittings
Coordinate fit schedule and conduct fittings
Create initial spec to final full graded spec
Consult with designer to work on complicated garment construction and establish the fit for each brand
Input in Tech packs with corrections / comments during fitting
Create and manage Work In Progress reports
Coordinate the production / delivery schedule weekly and coordinate fitting and fit samples accordingly
Email / follow-up as needed with over-seas vendors
Organize and maintain seasonal trim card library
Qualifications
5+ years of apparel Technical Design experience
BA/BS Degree required or AA Fashion Degree
Functional basic knowledge in technical fit & construction
Sketch technical in Illustrator
Ability to work in team environment
Super Detailed and Organized
Computer literate – Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop. PDM and PLM knowledge is a plus
The pay range for this position is: $75,000 - $100,000 per year
