Position Title: Property Valuation Spclist 2 - (25142630)
MISSION STATEMENT To be the nation’s most citizen oriented, efficiently administered, state tax agency.
The Montana Department of Revenue administers nearly 40 state taxes, property appraisals, liquor laws, and unclaimed property for the state of Montana. The Property Assessment Division manages Montana’s property tax laws, including the valuation of all taxable property for property tax purposes.

DUTIES Job Overview This position resides in the Property Assessment Division of the Department of Revenue. The Property Valuation Specialist (PVS) coordinates and performs a range of specialized property appraisal and assessment support services to facilitate data research, verification, computation, and processing procedures. The PVS provides general office and program support, researches and compiles general program information, ensures consistent messaging on policies, procedures, and statutes, and coordinates with other program staff and managers as necessary to respond to unusual or specialized requests. The PVS provides customer service to property owners visiting the PAD office, phone calls or other electronic communications. The PVS supports local government staff. The position reports to an area manager and does not directly supervise staff.
One position is located in the Bozeman office, and the other can be located in Bozeman, Ennis, or Livingston offices.

Remote / Telework This position may be eligible to work from an approved worksite; however, the successful candidate must be a primary resident of Montana as a condition of employment. The candidate would be required to report to the Department of Revenue office assigned by the supervisor. Employees must meet and sustain Department of Revenue telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program. Full‑time teleworking is not available.
Training Assignment Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
Education and Experience The qualifications desired on the first day of work are:
One year of post‑secondary education or training, and one year of job‑related experience.
Work experience may include appraisal, assessment, auditing, accounting, banking, data entry, bookkeeping, records management, customer service, or a real‑estate related field.
Must pass the department’s CORE Assessment training within the first year of employment.
Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Salary 47,831.00 – 49,386.00 per year.
