Put simply, we believe that more soft surfaces mean happier homes. About the Role: We are seeking a Digital Designer to evolve the experience across Ernesta’s website and e-commerce platform. This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role focused on design-led, intuitive customer journeys that balance visual design, usability, and performance. This role reports to the Brand Design Lead, Creative and partners closely with E-commerce, Engineering, and Marketing to support conversion funnels and design initiatives. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. This role is ideal for a designer strong in both high-end visual design and UX fundamentals and is motivated by seeing work impact customer behavior and business performance. Ernesta is a hybrid workplace with 3 days a week in-office (Mon–Wed). Responsibilities
Site Design (50%): Evolve and elevate the look and feel of the website by creating elegant designs that look good and perform well Design and support core e-commerce journeys including homepage, navigation, PDPs, guide pages, cart, checkout, post-purchase experiences and other brand touchpoints within the digital experience. Make tasteful iterations that increase conversion as well as aesthetics Work with Creative/Marketing to support the evolution of the Ernesta brand identity on the digital side UX, Conversion & Iteration (50%): Translate product requirements and user needs into clear user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs Partner with Product, Growth, and Analytics to identify friction points and opportunities across the funnel Evaluate and apply feedback based on consumer insights and A/B testing tied to conversion rate and average order value (AOV) Contribute to solutions for complex purchasing flows such as custom sizing, sampling, and trade vs consumer paths Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineers to ensure designs are well-documented, feasible, and thoughtfully implemented; consider edge cases in the design process to streamline QA Refresh and maintain shared design systems, patterns, and documentation, ensuring cohesion and efficiency Effectively communicate project progress and design decisions Qualifications
5-7+ years of experience in ecommerce-focused digital design in the luxury space (backgrounds in interiors, home, fashion or agency/studio experience strongly preferred) Solid understanding of UX principles, CRO, information architecture, and usability best practices, with ability to design complex flows clearly and simply Proven proficiency in Figma for prototyping UI animations, motion, and component creation Appreciation for good design and a passion for interiors; keeps up-to-date with industry trends Understanding of basic design principles such as hierarchy and typography Strong communication skills and comfort explaining and justifying design decisions Receptive to feedback and iteration during problem-solving processes and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ernesta is committed to inclusion. The anticipated starting base pay for this role is between $140,000 to $160,000. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role.
