The position is that of a Digital Conversion Specialist, located in the Digital Reformatting Section, Collections Digitization Division, Digital Services Directorate within Discovery and Preservation Services at the Library of Congress. In consultation with the Library's custodial divisions, the Preservation Reformatting Division oversees the preparation and digitization of Library materials. PRD creates or coordinates the creating of digital reproductions of Library items and associated finding aids. This includes coordinating the organization, preservation, and description of original archival materials; arranging for and monitoring the work of contractors who reproduce the items in digital form; and overseeing the placement of the delivered materials in a digital repository.
