Reports To: Assistant Director of Content Strategy & Campaigns
Work Modality: Hybrid work arrangement with an onsite requirement of 16 hours per week. Institutional Advancement is seeking a candidate within a commutable distance from campus (75 miles or less).

Position Summary Reporting to the Assistant Director of Content Strategy & Campaigns, you’ll support the planning, creation, and distribution of content across a variety of UTEP Institutional Advancement programs, including annual giving; alumni and campus engagement; development; donor stewardship, and events.
As a member of the Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) team, you’ll explore story leads in partnership with engagement and development teams. You will collaborate closely with alumni and campus partners, including deans and academic units, to gather information, contacts, and quotes, and to interview and write stories. You’ll write feature articles for the IA website and university publications, create copy for social media, and identify and compile stats or outcomes applicable to impact reports, stewardship, and similar efforts. Your role will include producing letters of intent and/or proposals to support fundraising initiatives. You will write, edit, and proofread high-end materials including marketing pieces, personalized letters, and stewardship reports. You’ll also draft and fact-check talking points, speeches, and other materials to support the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and other Institutional Advancement leadership.
Additionally, you’ll develop materials that advance IA’s culture of philanthropy and engagement. These writing assignments will require research skills, creativity, and the ability to write highly personalized communications pieces in different voices and tones for different audiences. This role requires consistency, accuracy, and high attention to detail. All content must follow University brand and communications guidelines.
Position Summary: Responsible for coordinating and managing the timely processing of Advancement-related operations. Provides organizational-related support or service with an external relations-focus and expectation for exceptional customer service.

Coordinates donor and funding efforts, services, events, programs, etc. as assigned.
Understands key functional drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish/complete own work.

Impacts the quality of work and the work of others on the team, ensuring efficient workflows, productivity, etc.
Assists in the development and implementation of advancement strategic plans according to plan and/or with guidance.
Works within standardized functional procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet established deadlines.
Performs a variety of tasks such as: researching and analyzing data and preparing reports/findings; planning and coordinating events, programs, or services; maintaining data records; processing forms and requests, etc.
Solves routine and complex problems and identifies new, less obvious solutions and/or provides recommendations.
Impacts the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of the team through planning, organization, coordination, and occasional oversight.
Uses discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results and/or improve efficiency.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.

Qualifications Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or other related fields
Experience: 1 (one) -2 (two) years of related experience and training to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
Strong storytelling ability and a knack for turning complex ideas into clear and engaging narratives
Preferred Education And Experience
