Work will be primarily performed at a designated field worksite location based out of a central Race Communications worksite. Frequent travel to and work from other Race offices or other off-site locations will be required.
Compensation:
$19 USD per hour plus bonus
Shift:
16-28 hours per week (Must be available weekends)

Position Impact:
As an Outside Sales Representative at Race Communications, you will be instrumental in expanding our customer base and driving revenue growth. Your primary responsibility is to proactively engage potential customers through direct interactions in their homes and communities. You will serve as the face of Race Communications, creating meaningful connections with individuals and effectively conveying the exceptional value of our products and services to secure their business. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as sales acumen to explain products and services, address questions and complaints, and provide effective solutions. You will also support Race Communications’ mission to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban areas by promoting reliable, high-quality internet services.
Responsibilities
Sales Outreach and Customer Engagement: Source new sales opportunities through door-to-door education of Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television services.
Identify, assess, and understand customer needs and requirements to achieve customer satisfaction.
Identify potential sales opportunities, and generate interest and sales opportunities.
Build relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication (listening).
Sales Goals and Performance: Meet or exceed monthly sales goals set by your manager.
Manage creation and presentation of quotations for opportunities as they are identified.
Generate new business and promote growth of Race products.
Product Knowledge and Customer Service: Gain and retain extensive product knowledge and a detailed understanding of customer requirements for Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television products.
Provide accurate, valid, and complete information when using our CRM and other software as provided.
Documentation and Compliance: Keep detailed records of customer interactions, process customer accounts, and file documents. Follow sales team procedures and guidelines, along with policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook.
Sales Campaigns and Events: Participate in sales and marketing campaigns and attend outside events (travel required).
Vehicle Maintenance and Travel: Maintain vehicle/equipment pre-op/post-op; keep a clean driving record; observe hazards and report concerns; travel to multiple service locations across California and occasionally beyond; commute extensively by vehicle daily; flexibility to work overtime, including nights and weekends as necessary.
Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines outlined in the Race employee handbook and job description to promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications
Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
Minimum age requirement of 18 years
A valid driver’s license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of one year of experience in sales, outside sales, or a related field; equivalent work experience in customer-facing roles required
Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce and Sales Rabbit) to manage customer data, track interactions, and analyze customer behavior
Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding goals; established record of meeting sales goals in a fast-paced sales environment
Ability to travel moderate distances daily by car and on foot to meet with clients and prospects
Willingness to participate and occasionally travel to attend sales and marketing events
English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension) as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication
Bilingual communication skills are a plus, particularly when serving diverse communities
Skills: Ability to listen, address questions and customer complaints, and provide timely solutions
Proficient use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and iPad for taking orders
Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software
