The
Major Account Manager – MSSP
is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, prospecting, and securing new business opportunities with Managed Security Service Providers. This role involves a consultative sales approach, deep understanding of cybersecurity solutions, and the ability to build long-term strategic relationships with MSSP partners. Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Lead Generation Identify and qualify new MSSP prospects through outbound efforts, networking, and referrals. Conduct market research to understand MSSP ecosystems and their client needs. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of MSSP opportunities. Consultative Selling Conduct discovery meetings to assess MSSP needs and pain points. Present tailored cybersecurity solutions including EDR/XDR, vCISO services, compliance support, and infrastructure protection. Lead product demos and technical presentations with support from engineering teams. Relationship Management Develop and nurture long-term relationships with MSSP stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor, helping MSSPs align offerings with end-customer security needs. Coordinate joint go-to-market strategies and enablement sessions. Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial outreach to proposal, negotiation, and closing. Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, engineering) to support MSSP onboarding and success. Track and report sales activities and performance metrics in CRM systems. Strategic Planning Develop regional or vertical-specific MSSP strategies. Execute account mapping and demand generation activities. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to refine sales tactics. Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years in B2B sales within MSP/MSSP environments; 1+ years selling to Tier 1 or Tier 2 MSSPs. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cybersecurity solutions, IT infrastructure, and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, CMMC). Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Tools: Proficiency in CRM systems and sales pipeline management. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or related field Compensation Compensation Range: $300,000 - $325,000 The estimated compensation range includes an annual on-target commission plan.
