
Sales Representative - Manufacturing

The Sales Representative is responsible for designing and selling control systems to customers. The position will primarily be responsible for addressing incoming inquiries, though will also be involved in outreach to bring new business to ASC. It operates under general supervision from the Director of Sales.
Responsible for building and managing ASC’s relationships with key customers with the goal of enhancing long-term business prospects.
Confidently represents and “sells” ASC as a company and promotes our products, including Econoclaves, ovens, CPC control systems, upgrades, support plans, and parts.
Promotes continuous improvement of our equipment and control systems
In charge of generating accurate and well explained quotations and pricing cost sheets
Negotiates pricing, payment terms, and lead times as well as specification details.
Generates precise compliance statements for technically complex specifications issued by customers. Compliance statements must be detailed to assure any exceptions taken by ASC are clearly explained to the customer.
Responsible for updating our internal sales management system with customer information and accurate lead statuses.
Initiates management meetings, and prepares for management meetings to discuss open leads, strategic pricing, and profit-margin approvals.
Participates in and contributes to company-wide sales events and meetings.
Cold calls potential customers to offer products and services.
Engages in ongoing education to increase product knowledge among customers. A high degree of control system competency is expected.
Provides quick responses to incoming email traffic and phone calls from customers.
Works with the sales leadership to develop plans to meet performance expectations and sales requirements.
Plans sales trips and travels up to 20% to promote new sales activities.
Attends ASC’s Trade shows.
Performs other duties, as required.
This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and has close interactions with sales and controls engineering employees. The position interacts frequently with ASC’s customers and vendors.
Requires a minimum of 1 year work experience in a related field.
Knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE) and HMI Software is strongly preferred.
Ability to communication effectively and excellent customer services skills are required.
Must be detail-oriented.
Must be competent performing a variety of analysis and using sound decision making and judgment.

Possesses strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and a typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
Expected to competently generate professional looking and aesthetically pleasing presentations and other documentation.
Must be able to spend extensive amounts of time sitting, working on a computer and speaking on the phone.
Must be able to spend limited amounts of time safely in ASC’s or its customers’ manufacturing facilities, which are typically not air-conditioned and include exposure to noise and dust/particles caused by welding and other fabrication activities associated with the production of industrial process equipment. In such cases, required to wear PPE including hard hats, steel-toed shoes, protective glasses, and ear protection. Additional protective devices are required when appropriate for a given task including protective gloves.
Must be able to walk-up stairs to second story office.
Position requires the ability to identify and distinguish colors on engineering drawings, design documents and project schedules (i.e., redlines, etc.). Reasonable accommodation may be provided.
Travel is required. Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport is necessary to perform job duties.
