About the Role DDC Sales & Vertical Market Development Manager — Altitude Building Automation, Denver Metro / Front Range. This is a full‑time role with a competitive base plus commission (OTE).
Altitude Building Automation is growing and looking for a DDC Sales & Vertical Market Development Manager to lead new business development, expand our presence across key technical verticals, and support engineered solution development. This role blends sales, technical scoping, client relationship management, and strategic market expansion.
What You’ll Do
Sales & Solution Development
Lead sales efforts for DDC and building automation solutions.
Develop engineered scopes, takeoffs, budgets, and proposals.
Conduct site walks, discovery meetings, and technical presentations.
Collaborate with engineering and operations for accurate design and pricing.
Track pipeline activity and report directly to ABA leadership.
Vertical Market Development
Drive growth across multiple markets, including:
Data centers
Geothermal buildings
Custom / high‑performance homes
Mechanical contractors
Retrofit & modernization
Commercial office
Multi‑family & mixed‑use
Healthcare
Higher education
Industrial & manufacturing
Hospitality
Client Relations & Account Management
Serve as primary pre‑ and post‑sale contact for key accounts.
Conduct follow‑up reviews and satisfaction checks.
Manage escalated client issues with urgency.
Support long‑term retention and repeat business.
Product & Technology Research
Stay current on automation hardware/software, IoT, and smart‑building technologies.
Evaluate competitive products for leadership.
Maintain expertise in BACnet, analytics, geothermal controls, and data‑center systems.
Project & Budget Oversight (for projects you sell)
Provide clean handoffs with scope, schedule, and budget assumptions.
Support project managers during execution and commissioning.
Monitor labor, materials, subcontractors, and change orders.
Protect margin integrity and report variances.
Support preparation of change orders and client updates.
Post‑Sale Client Success
Ensure system performance after commissioning.
Identify service contracts, upgrades, and energy improvements.
Maintain long‑term executive relationships.
What You Bring
3–7+ years in DDC controls, automation, HVAC, geothermal, or mechanical systems.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, BACnet architecture, geothermal, VRF, and energy systems.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
Excellent technical communication and presentation skills.
Strong budgeting, organization, and project management skills.
