Overview IRP Medical

is seeking a

Business Development & Sales Engineer

to drive growth in our

medical and aerospace molded elastomer business , with a strong emphasis on

liquid silicone rubber (LSR) injection molding . This role is ideal for a technically minded commercial leader who understands

rubber and silicone materials, tooling, and molding processes , and who brings

deep industry relationships

that can be activated immediately.

This individual will own customer acquisition and early-stage program development—working directly with customers from

concept and material selection through quoting, tooling strategy, and production launch .

Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales

Identify, pursue, and close new business in

medical devices, life sciences, and aerospace applications

Leverage existing

industry relationships and contacts

to generate near- and long-term opportunities

Serve as the primary commercial and technical interface with customers

Develop account strategies for OEMs, Tier 1s, and high-growth innovators

Technical & Engineering Support

Support

upfront quoting and RFQ evaluation , including:

Part feasibility and DFM feedback

Material selection (LSR, HCR, gum rubber, specialty elastomers)

Tooling concepts, cavitation strategy, and molding process selection

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to ensure quotes are technically sound and executable

Translate customer requirements into clear internal technical and commercial inputs

Process & Materials Expertise

Advise customers on manufacturing processes including:

Compression molding

Understand tooling design considerations, molding tolerances, and scalability

Provide guidance on performance requirements, regulatory considerations, and material tradeoffs

Travel & Representation

Travel regularly to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events

Represent IRPMed as a technical authority and trusted manufacturing partner

Required Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience

in business development, sales engineering, or technical sales within:

Silicone and rubber molded components

Strong engineering background

(Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, or related discipline preferred)

Demonstrated knowledge of:

LSR and silicone elastomer materials

Rubber compounds and performance characteristics

Tooling design and molding processes

Proven experience supporting

complex quotes and early-stage program development

Established

industry contacts and customer relationships

Ability to operate independently in a remote role

Willingness and ability to travel as required

Preferred Experience

Hands-on exposure to

FDA-regulated medical manufacturing

Experience working with

aerospace quality and documentation requirements

Background with custom tooling and multi-cavity molding programs

Experience selling engineered components rather than commodity products
