What does this role look like? Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor building the Orion Multi‑Purpose Crew Vehicle, NASA's first spacecraft crafted for long‑duration, human‑rated deep space exploration. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit to the moon, eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a Proposal Manager with the Capture Team
Function as key integrator between all functions and drive the ROM/proposal from inception to award
Conduct kick‑offs, lay out schedule, coordinate impacts across the program, and establish guidance
Drive timely ROM/proposal development to meet or exceed schedules in partnership with contracts and estimating
Support and lead process improvement initiatives
Establish program deliverables and support program business rhythm by providing deliverables and inputs for program review boards and management reviews (both LM internal and with the NASA customer)
Develop program directives and other technical plans/documents
Desired Skills
Previous proposal and writing Basis of Estimate (BOE) experience
Desire to enhance Program Management skills
Ability to manage/execute multiple projects at one time
Self‑starter, able to operate with minimal guidance
Experience working with GenBOE and Jira
Prior NASA or spacecraft experience
Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience
Effective relationship‑building skills with peers, leadership and suppliers
Positivity and enthusiasm, love being part of a team and working collaboratively
Exceptional strategic communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers and stakeholders, and program executives, with ability to persuade and motivate action
