
Overview
Project Read changes lives through literacy and empowers individuals, strengthens families, builds communities, and creates new cycles of intergenerational literacy. Project Read is located in Salt Lake City. The Project Read VISTA project aims to ensure that adults with low literacy skills receive the opportunity to read, write, compute, and use technology sufficiently to meet personal goals, function well in society, and become more productive citizens. Members will gain valuable experience in capacity building, program development, and community engagement. Additionally, there are opportunities for networking, professional development, and personal growth. We are looking for individuals with strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for community development.

Member Duties The Project Read VISTA project will build the capacity of Project Read by improving the marketing and recruitment efforts of the organization and developing a library management system and historical records management process.
Program Benefits Relocation Allowance, Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend, Housing, Health Coverage*, Childcare assistance if eligible, Training, Education award upon successful completion of service, Living Allowance.
Terms Permits working at another job during off hours, Permits attendance at school during off hours, Car recommended.
