
Overview
Primary Function
This role supports a global consumer play and entertainment company known for iconic toy and storytelling brands. Under the direction of the Creative Manager, this position leads the design and execution of instructional product guides and in-package print collateral that communicates product assembly, play patterns, functionality, and brand messaging. This 12-month rotation supports toy line plan additions with backup coverage across action-focused brands.
Rate: $33 - $38/hr.
Type: Hybrid, 3 days in office (Pawtucket, RI)
Contract: 1/26/26 - 1/25/27
Duties and Responsibilities 60% Design instructional guides and in-package print communications
Utilize team insights to guide item-level design decisions
Understand brand strategy as well as Marketing Engineering and Design and Development objectives
Conceptualize and present innovative concepts that meet brand messaging objectives while delivering play experience and story
Direct photo shoots involving models and products and manage illustration illustrators and external design resources as needed
Execute instruction guides that clearly and effectively communicate product assembly and operation
Execute in package printed collateral including brochures posters cross selling materials and activity sheets that convey strong visual branding and marketing messages
Provide regular progress reports to stakeholder
20% Collaborate with development teams
Initiate and attend team meetings project kick offs approval meetings and status meetings
Work within established cost parameters for design solutions
Monitor and comply with legal licensor and regulatory requirements
20% Manage projects and delegate assignments
Drive multiple projects throughout staggered stages of development
Delegate full or partial design projects to production designers internal agency resources temporary staff and external vendors
Prioritize work to maximize team support and ensure high quality deliverables
Skills Requirements
Strong graphic design expertise with a focus on instructional design and print collateral
Ability to translate complex product information into clear engaging visual communication
Strong understanding of brand strategy and cross functional collaboration
Experience directing photo shoots and working with illustrators and external vendors
Strong project management organizational and prioritization skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present concepts and progress clearly to stakeholders
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design Visual Communication or a related field or equivalent professional experience
Demonstrated experience designing packaging instructions print collateral or consumer product documentation
Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously within a fast paced collaborative environment
