
Overview
Lead Estimator/Sales in Metal Fabrication: (This is NOT a remote position.)
Responsibilities
Prepares metal fabrication quotations.
Analyze RFQ requirements, technical drawings, associated specifications.
Self-motivated, financially accountable with top line sales responsibility.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision and make independent decisions.
Skills/Qualifications
Must have at least eight (8) years of experience in the same or similar role.
Extensive metal fabricating print reading skills and the ability to interpret/analyze specifications and tolerances.
Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
Attention to detail.
Ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Ability to make sales calls and develop new customers.
Job Duties
Compute costs of materials, purchased items, fabrication processes and time requirements.
Solicit and collect material costs.
Identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods.
Establish fabrication rates and options for fabrication methods.
Maintain metrics related to quality and timeliness of estimates and win/loss ratios.
Review and recommend updates to work center rates and rate tables.
Review job costing to establish accuracy of estimates and process.
