What You Will Be Doing
Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills sessions (public speaking, focus, leadership, teamwork) using nature-based challenges and adventure-format activities
Conducting brief, results-focused motivation sessions guiding students toward academic targets using adaptive software
Maintaining engagement through storytelling, tailored approaches, and dynamic energy for K-12 learners
Implementing safety procedures and outdoor decision-making (route planning, weather assessments, gear inspections, Leave No Trace) per Waypoint field standards
Evaluating skill acquisition as students demonstrate real-world application of life skills
Modeling excellence and approachability as a motivating role model for students
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in any discipline
Minimum 3 years of experience working with K-12 students in educational, camp, coaching, or outdoor program settings
Documented history of high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional)
Strong public speaking ability capable of energizing and maintaining attention with large student groups, indoors and outdoors
Ability to connect with K-12 learners as a constructive role model who challenges them to develop
Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Ability to work onsite at Waypoint Academy's campus in Dripping Springs, TX (near Austin)
Nice-to-have
First aid or wilderness safety certification

Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The role requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
