The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding SCHUNK’s presence within a defined territory. This role emphasizes building strong relationships with end-users, uncovering new opportunities, and ensuring effective implementation of SCHUNK solutions at the plant level. In addition, the Regional Sales Manager partners with machine tool builders, dealers, and system integrators to secure specifications on new projects, while working with distributors to maintain coverage of smaller accounts and day-to-day transactions. Responsibilities
Develop and execute a structured territory call plan with clear prioritization of customers. Actively prospect for new business through scheduled outreach (phone, email, web meetings, and in-person visits), qualifying opportunities at both served and unserved accounts. Build trusted plant-level relationships across technical, purchasing, and management levels, ensuring SCHUNK is specified in new machine builds and installations. Present SCHUNK’s value proposition through customer meetings, demos, and technical presentations, emphasizing application-based solutions. Collaborate with machine tool builders, dealers, system integrators, and distributor partners to maximize specification opportunities and ensure comprehensive coverage. Perform daily account management using the CRM system, keeping opportunities, visit reports, and customer data accurate and up to date. Leverage CRM and sales reports to monitor progress, provide insight into territory performance, and support strategic and annual business planning. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and technical sales experience. 5+ years of sales experience in manufacturing, machining, or industrial automation. Demonstrated ability to develop new business and build strong relationships with customers & channel partners Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Proficiency with CRM systems and virtual communication tools. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain disciplined territory coverage. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (up to 50%).
