We are currently seeking a

Director of Sales

to serve as the senior, results‑driven sales leader who will be responsible for driving group, SMERF, incentive, and international group business for The Oasis at Death Valley. This role is heavily focused on disciplined pipeline development, proactive outbound selling, consistent conversion, and leading a high‑performing sales team.

This is a role that requires both direct revenue responsibility and strong people leadership. Success in this position is defined by the ability to build, manage, and convert a deep, forward‑looking pipeline across domestic and international markets.

The role is based in Las Vegas , serving as a strategic sales hub for key feeder markets, with frequent travel to the Oasis at Death Valley required.

Responsibilities Revenue Generation & Sales Execution

Proactively source, solicit, and close group business with a primary focus on SMERF, incentive, and international group segments.

Personally manage and close key domestic and international accounts and high‑value opportunities.

Drive new business development through consistent outbound prospecting and market engagement.

Pipeline Development & Forecasting

Build, maintain, and continuously grow a healthy, disciplined sales pipeline equal to 3–5x annual revenue goals.

Establish clear pipeline standards, next steps, and timelines across the sales team.

Lead regular pipeline and forecast reviews, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and forward visibility.

Identify gaps early and implement corrective strategies to protect pace and performance.

Sales Leadership & Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals, setting clear expectations around pipeline activity, conversion, and results.

Drive a culture of accountability, proactive selling, and performance-based execution.

Support professional development while ensuring alignment with property and corporate sales objectives.

Market Presence & Relationship Management

Maintain a strong, visible presence in Las Vegas, key domestic feeder markets, and select international markets.

Represent The Oasis at Death Valley at domestic and international tradeshows, sales missions, and industry events.

Build and strengthen relationships with international tour operators, DMCs, incentive houses, meeting planners, and key partners.

On‑Property Engagement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Travel regularly to Death Valley for site inspections, client visits, and business execution.

Partner closely with revenue management and on‑property leadership to optimize group mix, pricing strategy, and execution.

Community & Brand Stewardship

Build strong relationships with National Park Service, business partners, associates, and the local community.

Uphold and exemplify Xanterra’s values.

Support Xanterra Community Commitment to ensure positive and healthy environment.

Qualifications

7+ years of hotel or resort sales experience, preferably in a destination environment

Proven experience developing International group business

Demonstrated success building and converting large, complex sales pipelines

Experience leading, coaching, and holding sales teams accountable

Strong knowledge of Las Vegas, Southwest, and International travel markets

Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including internationally

Highly organized, analytical, and execution‑focused
