Nurse Director of Assisted Living

At Cedarbrook Senior Living, we work hard every day to find out what “Celebrating Life Every Day!” means to our residents and their families, then we help them achieve these goals. We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Director of Assisted Living for our Bloomfield Hills community. Responsibilities

Plan, organize and direct the overall operation of nursing services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care. Participates in all admission decisions and may visit prospective residents before admission. Evaluates the work performance of all nursing staff, assists in the determination of wage increases, and implements discipline according to operational policies. Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care and nursing supervision as evidenced by adequate services and staff coverage on unit, absence of odors, general cleanliness, prevention of pressure wounds, and apparent maintenance of optimal resident functions. Exercises overall supervision of resident assessments and care plans. Reviews 24-hour report daily to monitor and ensure timely, effective responses to significant changes in condition, transfers, discharges, unexplained injuries, falls, behavioral episodes, and medication errors. Collaborates with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems. Oversees nursing schedules to assure they meet resident needs and regulatory and budgetary standards. Participates in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff and assures sufficient staff are hired. Proactively develops positive employee relations, incentives, and recognition programs. Establishes, implements, and monitors the infection control program designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment designed to prevent the devilment and transmission of disease and infection. Prepares or reviews infection control surveillance reports to identify trends and to develop effective actions to control and prevent infections. Submits an infection control report to the QA Committee. Coordinates the completion of the admission, discharge, and evaluation materials and process for all residents. Ensure appropriate documentation including functional assessments. Is available on call for 24 hours to respond to staff, resident or community needs. Education/Experience

Licensed Nurse with a current license in good standing required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university preferred. Three years’ experience in skilled nursing care required. Three years’ previous management experience required. Benefits
