Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Senior Construction Estimator to play a crucial role in our project bidding, takeoff and estimation processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in both office and remote environments. This hybrid position offers flexibility while maintaining a collaborative approach to project estimation. Key Responsibilities
Review construction drawings and bid documents across all disciplines to assess scope, quantities, and assemblies Apply hands-on estimating experience to identify missing, incorrect, or misrepresented assemblies, quantities, and geometry Evaluate system-generated takeoffs against accurate, real-world takeoffs to determine accuracy and usability Identify gaps, errors, and inconsistencies in takeoff logic and clearly explain findings using industry-standard estimating terminology Translate estimating feedback into clear, actionable insights for technical and engineering teams Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve accuracy, logic, and reliability of takeoff outputs Participate in recurring review sessions to prioritize issues and guide improvements based on real-world estimating judgment Help determine readiness of estimating outputs for practical, real-world application Maintain a high standard of accuracy and consistency aligned with professional estimating best practices Adapt quickly in a fast-paced, iterative environment and remain open to continuous improvement Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on ground up commercial projects. Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Togal.AI, RIB CostX or similar tools. Advanced skills in quantity takeoff methodologies and practices. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Excellent knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for complex calculations and data analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
