The US Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Architecture Lead is responsible for governing the US CIB technology architecture strategy across the organization. This role ensures that all business solutions are designed and implemented following enterprise principles, modern technology standards, and long-term scalability goals aligned with CIB platform strategy. The role combines strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership to guide architecture teams and influence major transformation initiatives.
As our US CIB Architecture Lead, you will:
Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with CIB business and technology strategy
Follow and govern CIB architecture governance frameworks, standards, and design patterns across US CIB applications, data, infrastructure, and security domains
Drive architectural reviews to ensure consistency, scalability, and security across all US CIB platforms
Provide end-to-end solution architecture leadership for key programs such as cloud migration, core modernization, and data platform evolution
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design robust, secure, and cost-efficient technology solutions
Ensure architecture decisions balance short-term delivery with long-term strategic goals
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies (AI/ML, microservices, API ecosystems, cloud-native design, event-driven architecture, etc.) to modernize legacy systems
Champion modernization of monolithic platforms to modular, API-first, and cloud-native architectures
Lead and mentor a team of domain architects (application, data, infrastructure, security)
Partner with business leaders to translate strategic objectives into technology roadmaps
Build strong relationships with vendors and technology partners
Ensure all architectural solutions adhere to regulatory, cybersecurity, and operational resilience standards
Embed security and risk management into design principles (Zero Trust, data privacy, disaster recovery)
You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
Significant IT experience, including being in a seasoned architecture or technical leadership role(s)
Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale architectures within large organizations (preferably banking, insurance, or financial services)
Deep understanding of architecture domains — applications, data, infrastructure, integration, and security
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern design paradigms (microservices, APIs, containers, event streaming, DevSecOps)
Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or SAFe Agile architecture
Strong knowledge of data management, integration patterns, and observability tools
Strategic thinker with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Excellent communication and presentation skills — capable of translating technical ideas into business outcomes
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment across technology and business
Preferred Certifications
TOGAF / AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Azure Architect Expert / SAFe Architect / CITA
