Overview
Interim Director of FP&A Our client, a long-established industrial equipment distributor, is seeking an Interim Director of FP&A to support its budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs during a period of transformation. The role is on-site in their offices located in Portland, OR. This engagement has an expected duration of 3+ months. Responsibilities
Lead monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning in a highly Excel-driven environment. Redesign and streamline complex spreadsheets to create scalable, repeatable financial models. Support urgent budgeting deliverables and produce executive-ready analyses and presentations. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to leadership. Improve reporting cadence, structure, and reliability across the FP&A function. Prepare the organization for an FP&A system rollout planned for next year. Partner with department leaders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and model operational impacts. Collaborate directly with the CEO, CFO, and broader leadership team to communicate drivers, results, and recommendations. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as needed. Requirements
10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, ideally at the Senior Manager or Director level. Exceptional financial modeling and Excel abilities, with experience simplifying manual processes. Background in distribution, equipment sales, manufacturing, or similarly complex industries. Strong communication skills and experience partnering with executive leadership. Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with FP&A tool implementations preferred. Compensation
