Description CONTINGENT HIRE NOTICE:
This position is a contingent hire. Employment is contingent upon EDJ Associates, Inc. receiving a contract/task order award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). This position is performed primarily on-site at NSF headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
The Senior Technical Writer / Editor provides advanced editorial and quality assurance support for scientific, technical, and policy-related content produced for NSF OLPA. This role ensures accuracy, consistency, and compliance with federal writing and accessibility standards.

Key Responsibilities
Edit and refine technical and scientific documents for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and readability.
Ensure adherence to AP Style, NSF style standards, and plain language principles.
Review content across multiple formats including reports, web pages, fact sheets, testimony, and publications.
Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure Section 508 accessibility compliance.
Collaborate with writers and subject-matter experts to resolve technical or factual issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum of five (5) years of professional technical writing or editing experience, including at least three (3) years editing science-focused content.
Demonstrated proficiency in AP Style.
Experience editing content for federal agencies or research-focused organizations.
Strong attention to detail and editorial judgment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
Tools and Technologies: Microsoft Word (advanced editing features)
Tools and Technologies: Adobe Acrobat for document review and markup
Tools and Technologies: Accessibility and compliance checking tools
