Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range for this position is a nationwide market range of $109,300.00 - $180,200.00. The actual salary will be determined by factors such as scope, complexity, location, skills, experience, and other employment conditions. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
What Is the Opportunity?
We are seeking a highly strategic and hands‑on Sr. Manager, Public Relations & Social Media to elevate Simply Business's brand visibility and thought leadership across earned media, social platforms, and emerging technologies. This role is crucial for integrating our messaging and maximizing executive exposure, in close partnership with the PR and Social Media agencies.
Public Relations Strategy & Execution
- Lead earned‑media strategy and drive high‑impact impressions in insurance and small business sectors.
- Optimize PR content and placement to ensure Simply Business is frequently cited for Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI‑driven summaries.
- Develop and lead the response plan for all brand reputation issues and crises originating on social media or earned media.
- Lead and manage external PR agency, set KPIs, manage budgets, and ensure integrated results.
Executive Communications & Spokesperson Strategy
- Develop a comprehensive spokespeople strategy to position executives for press, speaking engagements, and social channels.
- Own the development of executive content, including press releases, contributed articles, and keynote presentations.
- Collaborate with the Content Lead to align all executive communications with the brand narrative and GTM strategy.
Integrated Storytelling & Content
- Create and manage an impactful storytelling calendar, identifying relevant trends and opportunities for brand narratives throughout the year.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, industry analysts, and media partners in the insurance sector.
Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Own the strategic direction and daily execution of all brand social media accounts, including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
- Oversee organic community engagement, social listening, and real‑time response to protect brand reputation and drive interaction alongside the Customer Service team.
- Lead and manage external social media agency, set KPIs, manage budgets, and ensure integrated results.
- Track and report on PR and social media metrics (Share of Voice, engagement, referral traffic) to inform broader content strategy.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Industry expertise and proven success in integrated PR/Social strategies in B2B, FinTech, or Financial Services.
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills with experience coaching and preparing senior leaders.
- Digital fluency: strong understanding of contemporary platforms, content formats, and LLM/AI mechanics.
- Demonstrated crisis experience managing high‑stakes communication and reputation risks in real time.
- Excellent agency and stakeholder relationship management, including Legal, Product, and Creative teams.
- Highly self‑motivated, proactive, and capable of driving multiple high‑priority initiatives with meticulous attention to detail.
