team. Job Summary: The Coverage Specialist works closely with the Producer and Account Manager to analyze risk exposure and provide insurance solutions to meet client needs. This role involves exercising discretion and independent judgment in evaluating and negotiating coverage and pricing, interpreting and implementing company policies, and serving as a subject matter expert in commercial lines. The Coverage Specialist initiates new and renewal marketing processes, including submitting to carriers and binding coverages as needed, and performs duties to establish, market, and maintain accounts. Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Producer and Account Manager to develop marketing strategy and prepare commercial insurance submissions, including analyzing applications, loss runs, and supplemental underwriting information. Submit new and renewal commercial lines accounts to carrier and broker partners, leveraging marketing and negotiation skills to optimize client outcomes. Maintain strong knowledge of carrier and broker partner capabilities and appetites; be familiar with rating systems. Prepare Loss Summaries and Market Summaries. Compare coverages, terms, and conditions; present recommended solutions. Bind coverage in compliance with carrier subjectivities, state statutes, and/or Surplus Lines Association requirements. Maintain agency management system data accuracy, documentation, and up-to-date information in accordance with policy. Build strong working relationships with internal team, clients, and carrier partners. Maintain a high level of confidentiality. Qualifications
Maintain a high degree of technical competence and industry expertise. Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe Pro; strong technical/computer ability including knowledge of SharePoint Online and Office 365. Proficient in insurance agency management software (EPIC). Ability to analyze and evaluate results to select the best solutions for complex issues. Ability to handle stress of short time constraints and manage change. Education & Experience
2-20 Property & Casualty License College degree or equivalent work experience 5+ years’ experience in the designated field Professional designation such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, AAI or ability to obtain Equal Opportunity & Compliance
