Overview
The Divisional Risk Advisor is responsible for providing risk oversight, guidance, and assurance services to enterprise and divisional stakeholders, with a strong focus on the Personal Investor (PI) business. Using the organization’s operational and strategic risk framework, you will identify, assess, and mitigate risks across retail investor operations, digital platforms, client service channels, and product distribution. You will collaborate with business partners to strengthen control frameworks, enhance operating effectiveness, and provide thought leadership on emerging operational and regulatory risks.
Responsibilities
Provide expert risk guidance, oversight, and assurance services to enterprise and divisional partners, ensuring alignment with the organization’s operational and strategic risk framework.
Manage and improve the effectiveness of risk management processes by setting clear goals and strengthening risk assessment and mitigation practices.
Lead the development and execution of short‑ and long‑term risk strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and key regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with business teams to identify operational and digital risks, streamline processes, and design effective controls that reflect industry best practices.
Act as a trusted advisor by offering consultation, analytical support, and risk mitigation strategies for new products, services, and business processes.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, establishing credibility as a risk management and compliance thought partner.
Assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls and recommend enhancements based on emerging risks and industry standards.
Use analytical tools to evaluate operational risk data and support data‑driven decision‑making.
Recommend actions to reduce risk exposure across operations, digital channels, and client‑facing processes.
Participate in special projects and enterprise risk initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of five years related work experience, with two years experience in risk management.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
Experience with fraud risk management, lines of defense frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration
Solid understanding of risk assessment methods, control frameworks, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Experience analyzing operational, financial, or client‑interaction data to identify and assess risks.
Familiarity with risks related to client servicing, transaction processing, digital platforms, or fraud prevention in a retail investor environment.
Ability to develop practical risk mitigation strategies that align with business objectives.
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across teams.
