Serve as the customer’s single point of contact for First United Bank products and services. Maintain basic knowledge of all products, services, procedures, policies, and regulatory issues related to daily duties including Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy, Fair Lending, Regulation E, and deposit, transaction, and loan accounts. Follows proper procedures for all customer-servicing activities and ensures accuracy and efficiency. Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships. Promote, educate, and participate in sales campaigns; introduce new products and services to customers and peers. Attend meetings, bank functions, and customer appreciation/community events as requested. Deliver excellent service by greeting customers, using their name, and building rapport to generate loyalty. Identify customer product needs and match them with First United Bank products and services; refer to other staff or departments as needed. Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products; complete paperwork accurately in the computer system. Assist customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, statements, notary services, online banking, ACH, transfers, wire processing, etc.). Process transactions quickly with minimal errors according to policy; manage cash handling, drawers, and vault duties as required. Verify transactions, place holds when appropriate, and conduct cash drawer reconciliation; resolve discrepancies with supervisor assistance as needed. Resolve customer complaints and problems, and review account issues to provide solutions (e.g., payment plans). Perform security functions for branch and vault operations and ensure overall safety of bank premises. Demonstrate mastery of the Primary Purpose and Essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position. Employee Specifications
High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college preferred. Minimum of 1 year banking experience as a Teller, Lending Assistant, or New Accounts is required. Cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service skills required. Basic mathematics and problem-solving abilities. Must be exact and accurate in daily work; strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision. Good judgment and decision-making skills; critical thinking and multi-tasking abilities. Professional attitude and appearance; ethical conduct at work and outside work settings. Active listening and customer service orientation; ability to identify customer needs and assist accordingly.
